The mosque is located in Amasya, Turkey. It was constructed during the rule of Seljuk Sultan Giyasettin Keyhusrev II by the Vizier Ferruh, his brother and finance minister Haznedar Yasuf between 1237-1244 AD. It was built as a classical Seljukian Ulu mosque in plan style. The minaret was built in the 17th century spiral style as twisted cut-stones were used in its construction. There is a classical octagonal shaped Seljuk vault on the other side of the minaret.
